Ekjyot Charitable Foundation

Free Eye Diagnosis – First step in our charity initiative ‘Vision for all’

People with low incomes and people lacking access to healthcare are vulnerable to several eye diseases and vision impairments that could have been prevented. Unfortunately, the reality is that we live in a world where access to eyecare is frequently a privilege rather than a right. Despite its vital role in our lives, eye health often receives less attention than other health issues. The situation is grimmer in states like Punjab, Rajasthan, and Haryana, part of India’s agricultural belt. With an overwhelming farmer population, these people are exposed to various eye diseases. Ekjyot Charitable Foundation has accorded the highest priority to these three states for their public welfare initiative – vision for all. We are focused on bringing light into the lives of people hidden in the shadow of visual impairment by bridging the gap between need and access through the organization of free eye diagnosis camps.

Early Detection of diseases in our free Eye Diagnosis camps

Free eye diagnosis camps held by Ekjyot Charitable Foundation and similar entities are a lifeline for those who want to see the world in its vibrant colours but often lose sight of preventable eye diseases. Free eye diagnosis at mass levels makes it possible to detect and diagnose eye diseases in a timely manner. Quite often, People don’t notice eye problems like glaucoma, cataracts, and diabetic retinopathy in their early stages. If these problems aren’t diagnosed in time, they can cause damage that can’t be fixed. Through these camps, we find these problems early on so they can be treated quickly and avoidable blindness doesn’t happen.

Access to standard Eye Care

Free eye diagnosis camps give the poor & marginalized people a glimmer of hope, who otherwise can’t get routine eye care. Many poor and rural places don’t have many eye clinics, and the cost of eye care is too high for many people to bear. Our free eye screening camps bring high-quality eye care right to the communities, making sure that no one can’t see because they can’t afford it or live too far away.

Raising Awareness about Eye Health & free care

Free eye camps like the ones conducted by the Ekjyot Charitable Foundation play a crucial role in raising awareness about eye health among population segments primarily insulated from such awareness. With such camps being organized in their own villages and towns, people learn how important it is to get regular eye exams and take other preventative steps by talking to our eyecare professionals & ophthalmologists. This creates a culture of eye health in these areas, which is among our primary objectives.

Beyond Eye Health - Empowering Individuals & impacting lives

Our free eye clinics leave an impact that goes beyond eye health. By helping people see again, we give them the tools they need to live on their own & earn a livelihood. A child who used to have trouble in school because they couldn’t see well can now resume studies with complete confidence. An adult who couldn’t work before because they were blind can now help their family make money. In this way, our free eye exams give people more than sight back. They give them hope, respect, and the chance to live a better life.
